Coleman Country, a 15-acre, country-atmosphere camp, is a retreat center when camp is not in session. Accommodating up to 2,000 guests, the facility is right off the Meadowbrook Parkway in Merrick, Long Island.
Coaching teambuilding, confidence-building, and cooperation are the hallmarks of the “camp day” activities for our events manager and his highly trained staff of Coleman Country Day Camp counselors. A group’s outing can be a picnic and/or family outing, a band camp or a leadership workshop, a conference or a think tank, a team-building training or a retirement party. Swimming, tennis, miniature golf, boating, ball games, zip-lines, etc. all are available. Carnival booths, horseback riding, petting zoo, inflatables, and face-painting are among the many additional doings that can be organized. GaGa, known as the gentlemen’s version of dodgeball, is a favorite on the campus. Supervision and leadership in all areas are led by our staff.
We offer a barbecue menu with options, prepared by our culinary staff, or our chef will prepare a custom menu. You also may contract with outside caterer, florist, DJ, and/or interactive entertainment. We provide lifeguards with American Red Cross certifications in CPR and first aid, an EMT, maintenance staff, and events manager.
Parking is free on site, and shuttle bus transportation can be hired for transportation to and from the Long Island Rail Road’s Merrick station.
The camp is nut-aware, and kosher food is an option.
